It’s almost done!

Making an album of original songs isn’t as easy as it sounds. Especially if you do it all yourselves. That’s what we’ve just done, and it’s just about finished.

“About Time” is the name of the album, the title track, and an apt moniker for a project that has taken 11 months, start to finish. But the name comes not from the timeframe, but from a response to the question “what are the songs about?” Uh…well…they’re really about…time.

I’ll write more about the songs soon, after the album goes live in June. Till then…

Join us at the Chit Chat this Sunday

OK, so you’re having a nice, relaxing Sunday, maybe hiking, biking or just hanging out. Wouldn’t some great music be the perfect ending to a good afternoon?

Well, Stray Muse will be playing at the Chit Chat Cafe in Pacifica this Sunday, March 30. We’ll be featuring all the songs from our upcoming album, About Time, as well as lots of old favorites. We’re playing from 4pm to 6pm. Join us for snacks, beers, or an early dinner! A splendid time is guaranteed for all…

See you at the market – Saturday, Jan 18

This Saturday we’re taking a break from finishing our album to play the farmers market in Noe Valley. We’ll be playing some of our original songs from the album, plus lots of old favs. 

The market is, of course, one of the best in the city – great food, and it’s a nice for kids. Oh, and great music!

We’ll be playing from 11am to 12:30 – hope to see you there!

Back to our favorite Farmer’s Market

The band has been busy recording our first album (CD? Collection of songs?) It’s fun and challenging! All the songs are our original compositions. 

Meanwhile, we’re taking a break to play a set at the Noe Valley Farmers Market this Saturday (October 12). We’re on from 11am to 12:30. C’mon out and pick up some fresh veggies and tunes!We love this market – great produce, great space and great people.

Oh yeah – ya can’t beat the music, either!

The mural at the square (on 24th Street between Sanchez and Vicksburg) is awesome, too!

Stray Muse at the Bandshell!

Stray Muse will be headlining the Songwriter show on Wednesday, May 15, at Golden Gate Park. This one will be special – we’re doing a set of all-original songs. These are our own songs that we’ve been performing or developing over the past couple years, with some new debuts. We’ll be recording them for an album soon, so come on out for a preview!

We’ll be on at 6pm, fog or shine.

Join us at a Block Party – Saturday, 4/20!

The band will be providing live music at the Eureka Valley – Caselli Ave block party on Saturday, April 20. (That’s also known as 4-20…😏) The party is all afternoon; we’ll be playing from 12:45 to 2pm. There’ll be food, games, and a chance to meet the neighbors – you’re welcome to join the fun!
It’s on Caselli Ave (2 blocks from Market St) between Danvers and Yukon Streets.

Also, mark your calendar: Stray Muse will be featured at the Golden Gate Park Bandshell Songwriter Series on Thursday, May 15. We’ll be playing an hour of all-original songs, from 6 to 7pm.

And lastly, but not leastly, welcome our new percussionist, master cajonista Keith McConnell (on the left, below). With Keith on cajon (literally, right?), Shelley shaking and tapping, and Andy on bass, we have an awesome groove going.

St. Pat’s Day at the Ale House!

Stray Muse will be the featured band for St. Patrick’s Day at the newly expanded Ocean Ale House. We’ve added a few Irish songs to our repertoire for the occasion, and we’ll be introducing a new band member.

Mark your calendar: March 17. We’ll be playing from 6 to 8pm.

Coming up – a week of Stray Muse shows!

This weekend starts a busy week for the band. On Sunday, January 14, Stray Muse be back at the Chit Chat Cafe in Pacifica (5 West Manor Drive). We’ll be doing an afternoon show from 1pm to around 3pm. Stop in for great food, drinks and music!

After another show on Wednesday night at a private club, we’ll be playing at the Noe Valley Town Square for the Farmers Market on Saturday January 21, from 11am to 12:30. It’s a great spot on 24th Street between Sanchez and Vicksburg streets. Lots of good food, veggies to take home and, of course, good music.

We hope you’ll join us!

An evening at the Ocean Ale House

We’re excited that Stray Muse will be featured on Sunday, November 12 at San Francisco’s Ocean Ale House. Mark your calendar!

The Ocean Ale House is a wonderful spot – friendly, good food and (of course) ale, beer and wines. It’s a great place to listen to music while hanging out with your friends. Come on out for Sunday dinner or snacks!

If you can come to the show, it would mean a lot to the band – we’d like to show the Ale House that we can fill the place with an audience that loves good music and good food.
